'Six1numnumummuimuunmlummmmmmnnnumu.... 'Ek,ZipfD,5?10J' WA The last was the Galveston five. The Golden Tornadoes, however, picked the Tigers up by the tail and set them down on the wrong side of the line. The game ended 24 to 23, and Galveston was acclaimed district champion. Central now returned to Houston and made a last desperate attempt to capture the city championship. South End was met with about the same result as before and we led them with a score of 28 to I7. The last and probably one of the strangest games in basketball history was with the Heights Bulldogs. Because of the row which had followed the previous Heights-Central game, all supporters of the teams were barred. The phantom game, as it might easily be called, was viewed by no spectators and the players were cheered by no rooters. The silence and the strangeness of the setting had a bad effect on our boys and they made only one basket during the entire first half. The second half was a great deal better, but, as had often been the case before, the lead was too great and the last scene of the tragedy ended I7 to 26. With Red Dickey and perhaps Jimmie Butler back next year, Central should have a team that will hold up the standards of Central. ,I ,YTR I - ','. , ,fr .
