Congratulations to you who have stayed in school these twelve years and are now graduating from Central. One half of your class has dropped by the wayside. And our sincere commendation to those of you who will continue your education after receiving the diploma. As you continue to build a good life remember this, you are the architect of your own fortune. One of your greatest blessings is the privilege of shaping your own destiny and the opportunity to build, day by day, a beauti- ful personality, mind and body, in which to spend the rest of your lives. If you are good achitects, if you keep the goal constantly in sight, there will be not only the happi- ness and security of a well-built future, but there will also be joy and pride in the day-by-day building of it. Again our blessings and congratulations for each one of you who recognizes his opportunities and acts willingly to assume his responsibilities. The class of 1956 is a wonderfud group. God speed. Sincerely, B. L. Wertz Principal May l have the honor of congratulating each of you upon your graduation from Central High School in 1956. Many opportunities for a successful and worthwhile life of service lie ahead of you today. Each of these oppor- tunities will carry with it a responsibility of much import- ance and your success at the tasks you are called upon to perform will depend in a large measure upon the attitudes and habits which you have acquired during your first twelve years of school. During these twelve years, if you have learned that there is dignity in hard work, that a worthwhile task once begun should be completed, that others are due consideration for their ideas and opinions, you have a good basis for success in whatever you do. The ability to do good work in all fields seems to be be- coming more and more important in the lives of young people in America as the years come and go. Your friends as well as your family have much confi- dence in your ability to cope with the future, whatever it may hold for you, and I know that they shore with me in wishing for you all the blessings and successes in life that you deserve. Harry D. Simmons Superintendent of Schools
