CAWTHON RAYMOND HOLCOMB Member Member Our congratulations to each one of you fine seniors who are leaving the open doors of Central to enter into one or more of the many doors of opportunity beckoning you. Doors of industry are opening to some, doors of business to others, and the doors of colleges are opening to those who wish to specialize in one of the many professions. More than half of all young people finish high school today, compared to six per cent fifty years ago, and ten per cent finish college-the old figure was two per cent. The business and industrial demand for educated workers is apparently growing even faster. Many 'Fieids that previously required a high school diploma now require a college education, Over half of you 1955 seniors will enter the door that is now opening to you at one of our higher institutions of learning. Our blessings go with you, as you leave Central and enter upon the voyage of life. We wish for each of you much happiness and many successes, Sincerely, B. l.. Wertz Principal You Seniors of l955 are members of the first high school graduating class in the last twenty years that are moving on into a world in which there is no war. This fact is very significant because the many high school graduates who have preceded you in America have con- tributed much in many fields in helping to bring about a world that is at peace. No doubt, all who are graduating from high school this spring are going to have to con- tribute as much toward keeping this peace as those who went before them contributed in achieving it. l believe we can count on all of you Central graduates to do lust that. You have learned many things in your first twelve years of school. The things that I hope most that you have learned are to love you fellowman and to know, at least in o measure, how to get along with him. Every- thing else being equal, if you have learned simple things, you are on your way to success, and if you work hard, no one can keep this success from you. l congratulate you and l salute you and may God bless you in all that you do.
