J. R. HOLMES Szlperinfendozzt of Muskogee City Schools To the Members of the Class of 1935: A great American once said, I am not bound to win, but I am bound to be true, I am not bound to succeed, but I am bound to live up to the light I have. In the contests in which you have engaged in school, from the daily classroom activities to the all-school affairs, we hope that you have found it necessary to be true. In the contests of life outside the school may you live up to the light you have. The school has endeavored to kindle in you the fires of scholarship, leader- ship, character, and service, which may serve as torches throughout life. May they glow as candles set on a hill. With you go our sincere wishes for contin- ued success. Sincerely, J. R. Holmaf 6 L. M. SPEAKER Principal of Central High School To the Members of Our School Community: May I express the hope that, out of our ex- perience in living and working together in our school, there will come to each one of us those characteristics which will help us to contribute toward making ours a better and happier world in which to live. Build today, then, strong and sure, With a firm and ample base, And ascending and secure Shall tomorrow find its place. Sincerely yours, L. M. Sflmker
