The classic American Prep will wear washed oxfords, argyle sweaters, twill shorts, tipped cardigans, twill pants, and twill skirts. For the on-the-move person, knits are it in mini dresses, plaid woven shirts, knit pants and skirts, cable sweaters, cropped sweaters, striped polo sweaters, knit turtle-necks, knit zip-neck tops, and pleated pants. For the Outlaw, roughness is the look in denim minis, laun- dered multi-buttoned skirts, twill shorts, acid-washed denim shirts, jeans and sweaters, belted twill pants. Nordic sweaters, and checked woven shirts. And for outer wear, the street equip- ment is acid-washed corduroy jackets, leather or twill bomber jackets, and stone-washed denim jackets with or without leather cord or trim. •adolescent yuppie.
