Shelia McGmster A Sportsman's Prayer Dear God, Help me to be a good sport in this game of life. I don’t ask for an easy place in the line up. Put me anywhere you need me. I only ask that I can give you 100 percent of all I have. If all the hard drives seem to come my way, I thank you for the compliment. Help me remember that you never send a player more trouble than she can handle. Help me, oh Lord, to accept the bad break as part of the game and may I always play on the square, no matter what others do. Help me study the book so I'll know the rules ... Finally, God, if the natural turn of events goes against me and I'm benched for sickness or old age, please help me to accept that as part of the game, too. Keep me from whimpering or squealing that I was framed or that I got a bad deal, and when I finish the final inning, I ask for no laurels. All I want is to believe in my heart that I played as well as I could and that I didn’t let you down. Standing Coach Carson. Donna. Carolyn. Shelia, Carol, Kate. Vermta. Annie. Mary. They’ll call my name in a few minutes, and I’ll walk up to receive my diploma .. . where do I go from there? I’ve always had the security of the school routine and its activities, surrounded by the friends I was so familiar with. Now we’ll all be going in different directions, and I wonder how long it will be before the memories that meant so much start to fade. After twelve years of this you would think I would be ready to move on. but I feel like I'm leaving a part of me behind. Maybe that's good though, because I really have changed in the four years that I've been here. Well, pretty soon they’ll get to my name. Then I’ll be up there, and it’ll be all over. In a way, I guess, everything's really just beginning. Aren't We Cute! Thomas Heath Batts Mary Ann Jacob Future Hall of Fame! You are being congratulated with all of my utmost interest. Your True Friend, Lisa Maria The crown of life is made of love and friendship, and sits high upon the forehead of humanity. To have a special someone in my time of distress, or just when I need a comforting hand, is a very dominating experience. Good Luck and Best Wishes! No one deserves it more than you, Lisa. Your Best Friend, Jennifer Friendship is a relationship so few of us have the chance to experience in life. To say that one has a true friend is very rare and a very few of us can say it. And she was there And understood And cried with me. My soul gazed up. The raging winds were stilled and the cool calm dark of night surrounded me. I looked up. And spoke to God, and felt His peaceful presence there. And she was there And understood And prayed with me. My soul soared. The wind blew soft and cool against my face. I stood barefoot on a grassy hill and watched the misty clouds drift over a silver moon, and thanked God For the ecstasy of love. And she was there And understood And smiled with me.
