Smiling LOLLIE WHEELER has represented Central this year as President of the Library Club and as a member of the cheerleading squad. He went to All-State for four years and sat first chair All-State for three years. Mr. Balch graduated from VandcrCook College of Music in Chicago, Illinois, in I960. He taught band at Tim- othy Christian High School in Chicago, Illinois, before becom- ing director of the band at Marvell High School. In 1962 Mr. Balch began teaching band at Central Junior High School. Mr. Balch has taken the tremendous job of directing both the Junior and Senior High Bands at Central this year and is doing an excellent job of producing two top notch bands. Gratefully we remember those who first tread Central's path. They established her traditions and blazed the trail for us. Humbly we pick up our packs and walk purposefully onward. There is much that still must be done, and the trail is beckoning.
