Library Club lt is considered a privilege to work in the Library Club fit gets you out of study hallj. The girls take care ofthe books, collect fine money, and work on bulletin boards to make the library more attractive. Each year at Christmas, the Library Club has a party for the library aids' mothers and the faculty. In May, the club has a party at Mrs. Durrett's home for the graduating members of the club. The officers for this year are President Mary'Lane Weems, Vice-President Debbie Carver, Secretary Debbie Hammons, Reporter Barbara Desbien, and Program Chair- man Alice Holt. World Affairs There was a heated debate last November in Room 2. Why? It was only the World Affairs Club trying to deter- mine who would make the best president of the United States. This was only one of its many activities through the year. The purpose of the club is to further the knowledge of the world affairs and to mark the trends of contemporary history. Through this we hope to become better citizens of the U.S. Membership is open to anyone who has taken one year of soeial studies and has maintained a B average. The officers for this year are Mike Owens, Presidentg Cindy Williams, Vice-President, Barbara Desbien, Secretary Wayne Russell, Sgt. at Arms, Dennis Peterson, Parliamen- tariang and Raymond Siler, Reporter. 9
