Seniors leave St. Paul with many expectations. Eating seems to be one of the seniors' favorite habits. 24 l It's a long reach as Barb Dix succeeds in putting her case on the crowded rack. SENIOR CLASS TRIP On November 9th, 104 happy and excited seniors boarded the train at St. Paul Union Depot. Destination . . . New York City. These same 104 excited but tired seniors got off the train 24 hours later in New York City and walked across the street to the Hotel Governor Clinton. After lunch they started on a tour of the city. Among the many sights they saw were the United Nations Building, Rockefeller Plaza and Radio City Music Hall. That evening they saw the Empire State Building, Greenwich Village and Broadway. The following day the seniors repacked their suitcases and boarded the train headed for our nation'S capital. On arrival in Washington D.C., they had lunch in their hotel, The Manager Annapolis. Then began a tour of the Smithsonian Institute, Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial,, the Capital Building and the White House. One of the most interesting things they saw was the making of money at the Treasury Department Building. They then went into Virginia where they saw Mt. Vernon, President Kennedy's grave and The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. It was then on to Gettysburg where they saw the numerous statues, cannons and the battlefield. As the weary seniors boarded the train in Harrisburg for home they realized what a wonderful and eventful trip they had experienced.
