Senior Class Although the Class of '45 is one of the smallest graduating classes in many years, it has developed tre- mendouslytfrom the somewhat bewildered sophomores that entered Central the fall following the out- break of World War ll. Defying all tradition a girl was elected the first president. The officers were Marilyn Dewars, president, Bill Rock, vice-president, Don Fallon, secretaryg and Marjorie Rosenthal was appointed treasurer. Early spring elections named Bart Butler president for the second semester. Other officers were Tom Leider, Marilyn Dewars, and Dick Hoffmanl When the Class of '45 came back as juniors in the fall of '43, Miss Helen Heck took over the guidance of the class from Miss Mary Bryant, Elected as president and vice-president were George Merrick and Alden Burnett, respectively. Marlene Arons was elected secretary, and Don Fallon was appointed treasurer. Tom Leider, lim Law, and Patty Greisbach were elected officers for the spring term. Bill Rock was appointed treasurer. George Merrick was named chairman of preparations for the lunior- Senior Ball. This annual social function was held at Stem Hall and was a big success. Upon returning to school in the fall of '44 the seniors found that some of their fellow classmates had already left to serve their country in the army and navy. This above everything else made them realize that their high school days would soon be over and they, too, would soon be taking their places in a new world. Chosen to lead the class was Bill Rock. Other officers were George Wells, Norma Alexander, and Nora Dobberfuhl. George Wells, president, Patty Wiggins, vice-presidentg Rosemary Ruff, secretary, and Roger Benson, treasurer, were elected to head the class for the last semester. Iunior Class W The Iunior Class has played an important part in the many phases of school lite this year. In their two years at Central, juniors have contributed much to sports, to Central's three publications, to the dramatic productions, and to the various club activities. Guided by Mrs. Daphne White and Miss Sarah Q'l-lora, members of the Class ol '46 have made an enviable record of accomplishment. Elected as president in the tall was Wallace Rogers. Assisting him as vice- president was Arlen Erickson, and Charlotte Rell was secretary. Dick Ring was appointed treasurer by the executive committee. Spring term officers were Bill Hansacker, president, lim Bublitz, vice-president, and the new secretary, Eileen Vogt. lack Leppla was appointed treasurer. The Iunior-Senior prom was the main event of this second semester. The Class of '46 will undoubtedly make a high mark for itself in the annals of Central. Ll
