Was chosen as sec- retary-treasurer of state coaches' association. Keeping Track of Us MR. IIMD JOHNSON B.A., M .A. Assistant principal GOLDEN YEAR for Mr. Iim Iohnson, former history teacher, now joumalism instructor and activities director: After only two years at Cen- tral, this year received appointment as assistant principal in charge of curriculum. Continued this year as activities director, joumalism teacher, and sponsor of Red Shirts. Received M.A. from Tulsa, University. fa Mrs. Cook, financial secretary, Mrs. Treichler, attendance clerk, Mrs. Chandler, registrar, and Mrs. Stephens, secre- tary to the principal, handle the infinite number of details necessary to the smooth operation of a school as large as O.H.S. Superintendent of schools VITAL STATISTICS-Looked out for welfare of 54,227 pupils, 1,834 teachers, 95 buildings.-Was responsible for spending of 812,283,690 this school year.-Devoted school administrator, efficient organizer, church deacon, amiable friend, Sup- erintendent of the the Oklahoma City School system, Dr. Chester Swanson, left at the close of the present year to teach in the University of Califomia. LOST AND FOUND-Lost, by transfer, four weeks after beginning of school, one principal.- Found, in office of assistant principal, one prin- cipal.-Former basketball coach, friend of stu- dents, active church worker, chairman of Taft Stadium Board, newly chosen principal of Cen- tral High School, Mr. Breithaupt, whose record of service for Central goes back to 1936, took over reins of O.H.S. in October, 1956, when former principal was transferred.-Approachable, con- siderate, efficient, and conscientious, did a fine job as head man. -9- a Golden One! 1 4 DR.
