THE BLACK AND GOLD On behalf of the student body, the Editorial Staff of the Black and Gold wishes to express their appre- ciation to Mr. Hoffman for his untiring interest and guidance in publishing this, our 1956 yearbook. We wish to thank you, Mr. Hoffman, for your pa- tience and cooperation in helping us produce an annual, which we will always remember. We are cer- tain that future Black and Gold staffs will enjoy working with you. EDITORIAL STAFF HS! GEORGE H HOFFMAN 1 4 ELAINE TESTA IZA-Editor BARBARA GRAFTON 12B-Editor 1 --3 . iq., 5 FROM THE EDITOR'S DESK As the day approaches when we must bid farewell to our schooldays, we look back on our three years at Central with both joy and sadness. joy-because of all the friends we have made, the good times we have had, and the knowledge that we have acquired. Sad- ness-in parting from all this and leaving our child- hood behind us. Now, we are looking to the future with anticipa- tion and confidence. Our education has been such that we feel we can meet most of the situations that may arise. We have gained a great deal of knowledge, not only in the essential book learning, but also in the understanding and fair dealings with our fel- low-men. To thank everyone-our teachers, parents, and our fellow-students, to name a few, would be an impos- sible feat. They have all contributed so much toward making our graduation possible. On behalf of the Editorial Staff, we wish to thank all those who have helped in getting together our 1956 BLACK AND GOLD YEARBOOK. ELAINE and BARBARA
