ROSE KASPARIAN 12 A Editor ,err TED FEURER 12B Editor mv ,f f.bf?'55 ' THE EDITORS SPEAK Soon, our days spent here at Central will be but pleasant memories. The realities of life will be facing us, and we shall look back upon our Alma Mater and think of the many happy hours we spent here with our teachers and friends. No longer shall we be able to seek the advice of these people who have been so close to us through our high-school years. We have been prepared. We must make the important decisions of life ourselves. At this time, many of us are thinking of the day we have all been waiting for. Let us stop a moment and consider whether this is really what we want. First of all, some of us may never see the others again. We all have had our fun and also have gone through some hard work. Most of us were happy here together. As one by one, we receive our diplomas on Graduation Day, we shall begin a new chapter in our lives. All in all, each and every one of us will be guiding our lives with the knowledge we acquired at Central. The strength of our nation depends upon us, as individuals. As the citizens of tomorrow, we are most anxious to do our part in making this world secure. W'e shall be the leadersg whether we shall live in a world of peace or war will depend largely upon the leaders we shall choose. Our classes in high school have taught us to work side by side with people of all races, creeds, and nationalities. This is one of the first steps to PEACE THROUGH EDUCATION. As we go into the world, what we have learned in CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL will always effect our decisions. Putting this edition of the BLACK AND GOLD to- gether has taken many hours of hard work and patience by teachers and pupils. We have enjoyed editing this book. and we hope that you. our readers, will be satis- fied with our efforts. We wish to thank all those who have helped the staff prepare this YEARBOOK. Q' Rose and Ted make plans for the '55 Black and Gold

WILLIAM T. MacDOUGALD Although two years is not a very long time in which to become thoroughly acquainted with a school, Mr. MacDougald has accom- plished this task. He has become the one person in Central to whom we turn, whenever we need advice. At every social event held by our school, we are sure to find Mr. MacDougald present. His sincerity has won the friendship of the whole school and particularly that of the graduating class of 1955. We are happy and proud to have such a fine man as our Vice- Principal. We wish to express our thanks and appreciation to the man who has been our guide during our senior year. Xl au' h .3 R
