Senior Class History
Writing a class history covering four years of high school looms as a
Herculean task. So many things have happened, some that cannot be
mentioned here, since that first day of September in 1946. Just getting
used to each other and learning the ways of a high school class employed
most of our time. We barely escaped from the fiendish ways of Algebra,
to become Sophomores.
We lost one member but gained another at the beginning of our
Sophomore year. That year we accomplished no unusual feats except
getting to classes on time. We all played and hoped by some freak of
nature that we would become Juniors We must have truly been, "The
It was during our Junior year that the responsibilities of upper
classmen began to descend upon us We were reminded by our sponsor
that we must work and make lots of money We sold everything from
potato chips to Christmas cards At the beginning of this year we pre
sented our play which was a dllly People came from miles around to
see lf we could do anything fBy the way our play was quite a suc
cessll This same year we passed our semester exams with colors that
were terrible to see Finally the occasion arrived for which we had
been planning for so long We gave the Senlors their annual reception
which was unanimously voted by all including the Seniors as a most
delightful and enjoyable experience
At last our Senior Year Old high school age was upon us We
became Seniors to know that somehow we had reached the place where
we must do or de Again we were told by our sponsor that we should
lay plans for earning money primarily for the printing of the annual and
for the defraylng of our senior expense During the first semester we
sold ads for the annual which was quite an experience in itself We
dlscovered we had a few super duper salesmen in our midst At exam:
nation time we passed with no fatalities We had a lot of fun choosing
our invitations caps gowns and diplomas We were so busy that the
end of the semester was upon us
The second semester we all worked on our annual On April 14 we
presented our play Dont Look Now
Now as we are working on our Senior Will for the reception we
realize that we are not so eager as we thought to have our twelve years
of school culminate in Baccalaureate and Commencement
Our major accomplishment this year as a part of the school unit is
the donation of a four circuit electric clock to our school
Perhaps this history will recall to many graduates something of
their school careers We only hope that we have in some way con
tributed to the further advancement of our school
We elected officers for this important year as follows
Vice President Rlchard Barnard
Secretary Joe Harrell
Treasurers Janette Moyer Helen Stacey
Sponsors Kathryn Frey Betty Brighton
