Mrs. Ruth Dexter Clark presented the awards to these two seniors because of their outstanding qualities of leadership, service, dependability and patriotism. The faculty selected these two seniors from a list of six candidates chosen by the seniors as being most worthy of this high honor. Sitting, left to right: Miss Anne E. Junior Varsity Rates High The Junior Varsity Team also had a very good season as they compiled a record of 14 wins against 2 defeats. The members of the Junior Varsity Squad are: Russ Salhany, Fred Faber, Ronnie Felber, James Fram, Joe John, Allan Taylor, Bob Anter, Tony Harraka, Norman Hartley, and Harry Nield. ine most important assemoiy oi me year was held on March 22, the purpose of which was the presentation of Honor Awards to Jeannine Alix, Robert Azar, Aurore Blanchette, Shirley David, Roland Deneault, Carole Fishbain, Mabel Messier, and Robert Whittaker, who all maintained an average of 88% for three and one half years. Mrs. Palmer presented the pins and certificates to these students. Supt. Calcutt brought greetings from the school department. The main speaker of the assembly was Miss Gretchen Tonks, Assistant Dean at Pembroke College, who was introduced by Mr. Young. Miss Tonks ' general topic was about Liberty and Free- dom. She made the audience aware of the grave responsibility young people will have if there is to be a world in which people can live together in peace. Musical selections were given by the glee club and special voice ensemble. Even wii )wn, the Bluejacke pulled through, due to their great couraj and determination. With the spirit to wi and the great coaching of Mr. Om( Landry, the team took the Class B title i style with a record of 12 wins against setbacks. This automatically qualified the Blu« jackets to compete in the playoffs at Kin( ston against Rogers. Central Falls agai showed they were fighters as they mar aged to keep up with Rogers during il first half with the scoreboard readini ROGERS 20— CENTRAL FALLS 18. The third period proved to be the turr ing point of the game as Rogers held comfortable lead, and pulled away to a 18 point spread as the buzzer sounded. Rogers wrapped it up in the 4th quart and the game ended with Rogers leadin 64-32. (Continued on Page 4) J
