' THE CLASS OF 1951 Formerly of Central Catholic PORTLAND, OREGON The Classes of '52, '53, '54 Catholic Central Portland, Gregon Dear Undergraduates: After having observed you during our stay at Central, we the 51lers, are firmly assured that you are better than able to carry the high standards set by us and preceeding classes. The task will be difficult but we know that you will aim for higher goals. Remember always that Men of Central are true Christian gentle- men, not only in name but in every action, whether it be in the classroom, on the athletic field or in your own homes. The Man of Central is the man who has the courage to do the right thing, not because he has to, but because he wants to. Filled with this spirit, you will find the way to spiritual, scho- lastic, social and athletic success much easier. Finally, we beg of you as loyal followers of Christ the King that you follow your Leader as His devoted subjects. Pray to Him faithfully that you may receive every grace that you need to reach God the Father, in Eternal Life. Being a creature among fellow creatures, a Centralite must learn not only to live with others, but also to be happy with them. Thus together do we work out our sal- vation. Social life at Central is not the schoolls primary objectiveg but as a complement to the family, Central helps its students to plan together, to work together and to enjoy its fruits together. Alone, or jointly with other schools, men of Christ the King, learn to live for Christ with their fellow men. 5' V W, . 1, I X , 5 i , EQ 29 S TLIDENT CSU NCIL i 'dem Presx LYNN MM F Vice Preskiem Wx NXEDERNXEY ER YL Secr ekory -'Y BXLX. The group, twenty-eight in number, has appeared at all Convocations this past year, not to mention the Christmas program, Motherls and Dad's affairs, and has furnished the proper liturgical music for Student Masses. 46 raduation and class schedules took such heavy toll of musicians during the year that the Band has not been featured on many occas- ions. Father Dooley as director, faced a task of building a new band Whose performances will delight the student body of the coming year. Centralites with a real desire and talent for music have their opportunity to develop their abilities. Central hopes that these boys Whose efforts have been heard reverberating from the room on 24th and Pine Will blossom forth and Will encourage others to participate in Band activities. - I lst Row: Marrimcin, Rivord, Provancher Collette. 2nd Row: Bergeron, Lowih, D.
