r ' v . ■■zsa Standing in the new Clinton Room is the cafeteria staff comprised of, from left to right, Mrs. Main, Mrs. Keating, Mrs. Robbins, Miss Hepker, and Mrs. Schlink. Clinton Room Brightens Life at CCHS Along with the appearance of our Clinton Room have come the many changes involved. Patience and co-operation have enabled the cafeteria staff to carry out their duties of cooking and serving the new lunch system with new equip- ment at a new location. The challenge of this change has been met and the result is the efficient management of the Clinton Room. The work of the custodians at Central Catholic is a varied and demanding job. Their services are needed by every class. Besides the duties of cleaning the school, these men are involved in the care of the Clinton Room. Their ef- ficiency enables the students and faculty to take pride in the appearance of their school. Pictured above are Al Snowder and John Diomente who hove shared some of the maintenance duties at CC during the 1966-1967 school year. Energy and persistence conquer all things. B. Franklin 25

Cooper Freshmen Encounter Irish Traditions The first step one makes is the one on which depends the rest of one ' s days. Voltaire The freshman student ' s first hesitating steps along the halls of Central Catholic High School are an indication of his future development here. There are changes to be made, new customs and terms to be learned. The protective shell of a familiar grade-school routine gives way to the fas- cinating, but alien, world of Central Catholic. The new student cannot sit back and wait for the es- tablished routine to adjust itself to his desires. Of course, teachers and officials are willing to help in any way they can; but the primary responsibility for a successful be- ginning in high school rests with the student himself. Par- ticipation in the classroom, compliance with regulations, belief in the school ' s traditions — all of these will govern the freshman ' s next three years here. Too often, the freshman class feels pushed aside amidst the maze of upperclassmen activity. The attitude becomes one of only half belonging to a student body that doesn ' t seem to care. This is not true. Everything that is only ob- served today can be participated in during three years o f tomorrows. Central Catholic High School not only wants its freshmen; it needs them. The Class of 1970 is not just looking towards this school ' s future — it is its future. p. Crabil C. Craighead C. Craighead 27
