Strike Up 5fi. Band! The Central Catholic Golden Shamrock Marching Band, under the direction of Mr. Joseph M. Woods, is one of the out- standing products of our distinguished music department. Everyone at school is aware of the quality and variety of music presented by our band, but few realize the hours of tedious practice necessary for the finished product we hear and see. Besides being accomplished musicians, members of the marching band must be able to go through the intricate rou- tines and formations all of us enjoy so much during the half-time at the football and basketball games. Their musical background presented during these home-games, does much to spark enthusiasm for our team. Numerous awards won by the marching band members have done much to increase C.C. ' s prestige, as have the twirlers ' skillful manipulation of their batons. We take this opportunity to acknowledge the work of these dedicated students, and to thank them for the enjoyment and honor they bring to our school. TWIRLERS KNEELING left to right 1 . M. A.
