The GIRLS' ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION, one of the largest groups of the school, provides organized games in various sports for the entertainment of the girls and also on a competitive basis. Intramural games in volleyball and basketball are-played by homeroom teams in the morning before classes. Every year the club sponsors two hikes which are held on holidays, and a roller skating party. A point system is used so that one point is given for every fifteen minutes spent in athletic activities. Cn this basis, members can attain the awards of triangle, numeral, and letter monograms. A special party is held in the school cafete- ria for the presentation of these awards. This year Violet Bobay won a trophy for the highest number of points. Miss Julia Heighway, the G.A.A. mod- erator, is kept busy by her other positions as Health and Safety teacher and girls' gym instructor, but always has the time to listen to students' problems. When we hear Miss Heighway's cheery Hi there! in C.C.'s halls, we all realize that she is not just a teacher, but a personal friend. --diww A .il . H gsgggm is
