.f4f!rLfe5 gxcfudiue - onogram The monogram club consists of those players who by their accomplishments in sports have merited a letter. Every player in this club has distinguished himself not only as an individual but as a team-man as well. Win, lose, or draw, these boys proved themselves deserving of this award. That big C represents the school's recognition of those who have participated in a maiority of inter-scholastic athletic contests in any one spot. Their meritorious service in this field of extra-curricular activities was a credit to the school they so ably represented. This year there will be additional mongrams for those who took an active part in C. C.'s attempt to bring home the City Tennis Championship Trophy. This will include at least Ken Kimmel, John Yerick, Larry Badders, and Tony Lisman who launched C. C.'s first tennis season in many years. Lower: Row lf R. Urbine, J. Hall, E. Eifrid, D. Fenker, G. The track team, under the direction of new head coach Ed. Cobett, had a fair record, considering the teams it faced. With Eddie DeWald running the lOO yd. dash and 220, Ed Sigl topping TO tt. in the pole vault and Jerry Wagner breaking the school record for broad lump, the team picked up important points. The capable showing of Bob Wruble on the hurdles and Jerry Moore throwing the shot put gave evidence that C.C. was well represented on the track as well as in other sports. Tennis returned to C.C. after a brief absence. With Father Hammond as its faculty spon- sor, the team had a big lead in the City Championship race on May l. Defeating South Side, Concordia, and Bluffton in quick succession, the Irish proved that they were the team to beat in this area. With three iuniors and one sophomore in the first five, the lrish will be a power in city tennis again next year. lll
