The team's 16-6 record brought back memories of many of Central's greatest teams. Although the team did not win any major titles, the season had various highlights. Three appeara- nces at Centennial Hall, and a sectional final victory over the Start Spartans, the Irish season was considered a great success. Receiving honors at the team's post season basketball banquet was, Senior Co-Captain Gary Bumpus, for the second consecutive year voted most valuable player, senior Todd Perz was voted player with the most desire, and Mark Lechlak received the lst Annual Rick Zalewski Rebounding Award. o 1 l Irish Cagers Ba ck Senior Gary Bumpus soars over defender for an easy two.
