The Junior Varsity Volleyball team played an extremely well 1979-1980 season. Under the instruction of Dina Zmuda, the team consisted of 10 freshmen and only 3 sophomores. For being such a young group, the girls surely did prove themselves by gaining a record of 10 wins and only one loss. This loss was to Woodward. Returning freshmen next year will have the experience for playing Varsity Volleyball their last two years. Moving up from the J .V. team to the Varsity team brings about a sense of accomplishment to the girls. Janet Groch won the award for Most Inspirational. T' Varsity Volleyball Bumps Through Season Central's Girls Varsity team concluded their season with a record of 10 wins and 7 losses. The girls' league record was 9 wins compared to 4 losses. Many of the team members attended volleyball camp during the summer. They learned skills and did exercises to help them gain experience and confidence for the upcoming season. Special awards this year went to Cathy McPartland - Most Valuable Player and to Jeri Myers - Most Improved Player.
