The Fighting Irish bowling team showed
great improvement from last year in captur-
ing the league title and second place in the
play-offs. The Americans took first place
while the Nationals copped second in the
round-robin.
The Americans, comprised ofjim Matus-
zak, Larry Glesmer, Tony Pacewicz, Dennis
. Jankowski, David Sobczak, and Mike
Meeks, were aided considerably by a nine-
teen-game winning streak in romping to
the championship. The quintet finished
with a 46-8 record.
Lead by co-captains Rick Terpinski and
Dave Borkowski, the Nationals compiled
a 34-U2-19-U2 record, finishing in third
place. During the play-offs, the Nats upset
St. Francis and crushed Woodward only to
fall to Start in the finals. Other members
of the team were Leonard Piodja, Darryl
Styszko, Dale Kubacki, Tom Wood, and
Jerry Knierm.
