' The primary purpose of the study of chemistry is to teach the scientific method ; that is, the appeal to experiment. Thus the stu¬ dents are led to the humble acknowledgment of the omnipotence of the Author of nature’s laws, the secrets of which man has been per¬ mitted gradually to discover.
