QV 'k .P 'LTHEHEARTANDEAGLEJ' 'k J' 'L 'F Class P CCY By ERMADEAN BuRNs NE DAY ln the mrddle of july of the year l942 the postman left me an envelope whrch appeared more rnterestmg than the others as rt was postmarked CENTER and I seemed to know rnstmctrvely that rt was from some member of the CLASS OF THIRTY After a few moments reflectlon I recognized the wrrtmg to be the worthy scrawl of Ralph Bowles There had been some Improvement rn hrs wrltmg for I could now read rt l Immediately opened the envelope and found much: to my pleasure that the CLASS OF THIRTY was gorng to have a reunlon dunng the great Pan American Arr EXPOSIIIOD at the transcontmental arrport at Center I Immediately drove from my home rn Beverly l-lllls to the Paramount Studros to as an extra for several years We planned our trrp together The Pacrflc Flyer Rarlway seemed the most ef flcrent and qulckest way to get there unless we took a plane We were to leave ln a week wlth short stops at Reno Salt Lake Cxty and Denver In my excrtement as I was leavrng the burldmg I turned rn the wrong drrectxon and found myself ln another studro As I was about to leave unnoticed I cast a glance at the head of the director who appeared strangely famrllar Where had I seen a per son wlth harr of that color wrth a llttle cowllck rn front which made rt stand up?
