A. PORTER H. SMITH M. L. DAMERON 2:6 N. STEPHAN MISS CUNNINGIIANI I-Ii! Ho! '43 Out where the ha11dclasp's a little stronger, Out where the smile dwells a little longer, That's where the M1851 begins MS CENTENNIAUS newest class, we were led by Sheriff Albert Porter and chief deputies Dudley Miller, Margaret Wolf, and Mona Lee Dameron. Calvin Carel led the yipee-ki-ya's. Mr. Iehle was foreman of the yearlings on the Bar C . A round-up of talent found Margaret Shattuck, Betty Lou Clark, Eleanore Triebes, Jack Seavy, and joe Holloran ready for the Freshman Vodevil Act. Mr. Ket- tering found basketball and football prospects in Al Porter, James Arnaya, Salvy Hernandez, James Sanford, and Arthur Valle. The Frosh Rifle Team kept up the spirit of the old West. Josephine Dimes and Al Porter lassoed the Shakespeare Scholastic Awards. Our second year in the West found Harold Smith wearing the Sheriffs badge with Dudley Miller, Nancy Stephan, and Mona Lee Dameron chief deputies. Calvin Carel kept our spirits up, and Miss Cunningham joined us as class sponsor for the rest of our days here. The B basketball team bringing honors to the Sophomore class proved the West makes men. 'lim Amaya and jack Trevithick received their brands in football. Ruth Hall, jim Drake, Dudley Miller, and joe Bullen put forth their combined efforts on debate. Other Sophomore activities included participation in the Vodevil, Circus, Art Pageant, Clee Club, Band, Orchestra, and R. O. T. C. 1942 brought other new experiences to the now junior class. The officers were Al Porter, Harold Smith, Nancy Stephan, and Mona Lee Dameron. Ansel Cower I I
