Baptist Student Union The purpose of the Baptist Student Union at Centenary is to cultivate a student ' s friendship with Christ, and to grow spiritually as well as intel- lectually. It is the connecting link be- tween the student and the local church. The Canterbury Club is an or- ganized body of students and fac- ulty operating under the authority and direction of the Episcopal church. It seeks to foster deeper and more meaningful religious thought and experience by provid- ing opportunities for corporate worship, discussion, and recrea- tion. The Canterbury Club at Centenary meets weekly for Di- vine Worship, program, and sup- per. On all Feast and Holy Days, Divine Services are conducted at The Canterbury House. The Rev- erend Kenneth W. Paul is the full- time Episcopal Chaplain to Cente- iary College. 55

Methodist Student Movement The Methodist Student Movement is organized around six small groups called DIALOGUE-COVENANT GROUPS, including the steering committee which operates on the small group basis. Six to twelve members are in each group, with each group meeting once a week. The aim of such groups is to provide a context where persons can create honest and authentic relationships through experiences of self-discipline and commitment. Students commit themselves to two hours a week, one for prepara- tion and one for the meeting of the group. Inherent in such commitment is concern for the other members of the group and the total life of the ' fellowship. The meeting of the group is structured around a study paper which enables the members of the groups to en- counter views on significant issues and struggle with them in the community. AEA Alpha Epsilon Delta, a national honor society for pre-medical stu- dents, works to encourage excel- lence in scholarship, and to serve as a liaison between pre-medical and medical students. To qualify for membership in AED, a student must have a 3.0 average in sci- ence, a 3.0 overall, and approved by the members. Dr. Mary Wart- ers serves as faculty advisor. Spon- sors are Dr. Speairs, Mrs. Mc- Farland, and Dr. Entrikin. Members are chosen on a basis of scholar- ship and upon faculty recommen- dation. Field trips form an import- ant part of the club ' s activities. This year members participated in a camping trip in the Ouchita Na- tional Forest to classify organisms and study the area. Dr. Wilkins and Dr. Speairs serve as the faculty advisors.
