Davis Treasurer One of the largest departmental organizations on the campus is the Commerce Club. It is proof of the growing interest in the field of commerce. This club has been very active in familiarizing the stu- dent with practical business opera- tions, and in keeping him in con- tact with the latest developments in the ever-changing field of com- merce. The organization was founded at Centenary in 1938, and carries on under the capable guidance of its sponsor, Mr. Burt Williams. Members: James A. CenCoe, an inter-sorority organi- zation, was founded in 1937 to fos- ter a friendly spirit and coopera- tive understanding among the Greek groups. Membership is com- posed of ten outstanding girls from each of the four sororities on the campus. Meetings are held in the lodges the second Tuesday of every month. Each year CenCoe awards a trophy to its most outstanding senior member. Selection for this coveted honor is based upon loy- alty to CenCoe, her sorority and the college. The CenCoe key is worn with pride by every member of this group. Chi Sigma Nu, founded in 1937 under the leadership of Dr. A. J. Middlebrooks, is an honorary fra- ternity whose membership is lim- ited to those siudents interested in teaching. To qualify for member- ship, one must be of Junior Classi- fication and maintain a " B " aver- age. The purpose of this fraternity is to promote high standaras of scholar- ship, leadership, and service in the field of education. As the number of members is limited, those wear- ing the gold key of Chi Sigma Nu can be justly proud.
