Pi Mu Sigma, the pre-medical fra- ternity, is cne of the oldest organi- zations on the campus. It was founded in 1925 under the spon- sorship of Dr. I. Mdizlish. This club is now under the sponsorship of Dr. Mary Warters. In order that a student be received as a member he or she must have first a sincere desire to enter the field of medicine. This must be suppiemented by a B average in science and an over all C average in all other courses. Also the mem- ber must be submitted to an in- itiation ritual and must prepare a fifteen hundred word theme on any subject concerning medicine or disease. During the year Pi Mu Sigma con- tributes annually one or more books on some medical subject to the library. For programs the members of Pi Mu Sigma are privileged to hear interesting and informative discus- sions by physicians selected from those practizing in Shreveport. Programs of this type have done much to stimulate and inspire pre- medical students in their present studies and in their work to come. Members: P. F. Apgar, O. J. Bar- nette, Richaid J.
