In February Dr. John Scales, Jr., showed the students his techni- color film on Louisiana which showed them how many interest- ing and beautiful " objets d ' art " were in our own state. In the Spring the League will spon- sor art exhibits at the Louisiana State Exhibit Building. The stu- dents ' own work will also be on display in which styles and tech- niques vary from impressionism, naturalism, to cubism, surrealism and non-objective art. These ex- hibits are always open to the stu- dent body as well as members of the League. Another old and active organiza- tion on the campus is The French Club. Under the capable direction of Dr. E. L. Ford, it continues to grow in number and activities, and gives much prestige to the Lan- guage Department. Students who are eligible for membership in this group must maintain a " C " aver- age in French. The industrious ones who acquire the desired average and interest, meet month- ly for discussions, games, and re- freshments. The purpose of the club is to furnish the student with the op- portunity to increase his knowl- edge of the French language through conversation. Members: Joan Airey, O. J.
