DURING THIS TIME PROFESSOR CLINE HAS QUIETLY AND EFFICIENTLY TAUGHT THE YOUTH OF CENTENARY, FREELY SPENDING HIS GENTLE PHILOSOPHY AND KINDLINESS AND FIRMLY WORKING HIS WAY INTO THE HEARTS AND MINDS OF ALL CENTENARIANS. STEPPING FROM THE RANKS OF THE COLLEGE FACULTY, PIERCE CLINE, IN THE SPRING OF 1933, TOOK UPON HIS SHOULDERS THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF PRESIDENT OF THE INSTITUTION. PATIENTLY AND WELL HAS HE SERVED, INTERPRETING THE COLLEGE ' S NEEDS AND DIFFICULTIES AS THEY PRESENTED THEM- SELVES. HE HAS CONSTANTLY STRIVED TO HELP DESERVING STUDENTS, AND, DURING THE PAST YEAR, HAS ENDEAVORED TO RAISE STILL HIGHER THE SCHOLARSHIP OF THE STUDENTS OF CENTE- NARY COLLEGE.
