Still Leading The Way For Better Radio BASKETBALL Top of the Dial For Tops In Listening SPORTS NEWS Music w,,,,,,,,,,gQ' K D T A ' 1400 ON YouR DIAL LEE APPLIATN CE CUB BASKE TB XLL. 15 straight wins The Cubs only loss of the season was the opener with Delta which they later avenged with a victory The Cubs first tournament game was against Plateau Valley They had little trouble downing the league losers 63 to 40 as every man saw action Cedaredge then went into the finals and played the Palisade Bulldogs for Class B Championship and the trip to Denver for state competition The game started slow with first Palisade leading and then Cedaredge How ever by the half the Cubs had pulled to a 23 18 lead and were never again behind MacAdams and Anderson led the Cubs attack with 18 points apiece as they went on to win 46 40 Don Anderson and Gene MacAdams both made the All Tournament Team Don at forward and Gene at guard To round out the Tournament the Cub Cheer leaders won the Cheerleading Cup for the third time to retire the trophy The Cedaredge Cubs entered the State Tournament as the underdog However they made themselves known as they crushed the Middle Park Panthers 65 19 as every Cub saw action In the semi finals the Cubs proved themselves just as well as they swept past Erie 68 49 to w1n a shot at the State Championship Anderson scored 25 MacAdams 14 and Mills 17 to lead the Cubs to their victory Getting off to a poor start and hitting less than 20 percent of their shots the Cedaredge Cubs dropped the State Championship to Johnstown 57 48 Playing their worst game of the season the Cubs had to settle for State Runner up honors Don Anderson and Mike Mills were picked for the All State Team by both the 37 N ' I E L -' ' .
