Jack Morris Manager Neither team scored in the third quarter. In the last quarter things happened. Palisade finished a 82 yard drive with a touchdown. The Cubs then scored on a pass from Miller to MacAdams. The extra point failed. The score stood 18-19 with the Cubs on the wrong end. The Cubs started another drive. Driving themselves to the eight yard line, the Cubs went into a spread formation to pass. Ken McGechie intercepted Mike Mill's pass and ran 96 yards for a touchdown to put Palisade easily ahead in the last seconds of the game. The score ended 26-18 in what was a near upset. Palisade went on to take Class B State Runner-up. With a bitter defeat behind them the Cubs journied to Paonia. Playing a good game, the Cubs worked up a 12-6 lead at the end of the first half. The secondhalf turned out to be a different story. The Cubs team, having several linemen injured, didn't have the depth needed to hold the lead and the final score ended 20-12. Cedaredge's last two games were cancelled.
