Samuel E. Clopper (B.S. Towson State; M.Ed., Johns Hopkins; principal) The Administration proved once again that they were capable of handling the complexities of run¬ ning CHS. Mr. Clopper, armed with a steady head and nerves of steel, succeeded in maintaining order throughout a year unlike all others. In the course of the year he confronted such matters as the CHS accredidation evaluation, a time schedule change, and a con¬ frontation with seniors disturbed over the site of graduation. CHS was graced with the ap¬ pointment of three assistant prin¬ cipals, each charged with the ad¬ ministration of one grade. Mr. Fer- ruso, a CHS veteran, maintained discipline in the Senior class as did Mr. Aycock, a newcomer to CHS in the Junior class. Mr. Shannon, a transplant from CJHS guided the sophomores along the path of maturing into high school life and was also instrumental in hold¬ ing up the wall near the front entrance. Mrs. Neugent, the administra¬ tive aide, managed to satisfy everyone who wished to use the building’s facilities as well as keeping accurate records of attendance. For another year the unsung heroes of the office, Mrs. Bayley (secretary to Mr. Clopper and financial secretary) and Mrs. Tolz- man (secretary to Mr. Aycock, Mr. Shannon, and Mr. Ferruso), suc¬ cessfully overcame the mountains of paperwork needed to keep the school functioning. 14 Susan Bayley (secretary to Mr. Clopper; financial secretary). Margaret K. Tolzman (Secretary-main office).
