Seniors POSSESSING QlTAl.I'I'lliS of leadership and enthusi- asm, the class of '58 finished its junior high career. proud of its many achievements and ready to add its talents to the velvet campus of Catonsville Senior High School. During the ninth grade we had gained the knowledge of responsibility through the establishing of a new Student Council, and a school newspaper, while our dances and trips to Wfashington added a note of social vivacity to our accomplishments. Having this foundation upon which to build, we moved to our spacious new high school in V255 to face the early bewilderment of changing classes, correcting schedule cards, and getting lost in the maze of halls and classrooms. Finally, we began to establish a foothold in our new school. Soon after their election, our class officers were faced with the planning of the Sophomore Party, Wiiiter Wliirl. Dancing to the music of the Starlets, the Class of '58 was destined to succeed in the coming years. Backed by the successful accomplishments of our sophomore year, we stepped enthusiastically into the spotlight of the junior year. Spurred on by previous successes, Ethel Engle and Bob Nelson reached new heights in the C.S.H.S. athletic pro- gram, while David Poist and Jeannette Townsend added their skills to our student government. After a year of hard work and fulfillment, we zealously accepted our class rings at the junior Prom and danced to the music of the Legionaires at our Spring Fantasy, Witli the close of our junior year, we looked forward to accepting the pride and responsibility of becoming seniors. The long-awaited senior year brought with it many new challenges. Faced with the difficulties of Freudian psychology, and Shakespearian literature, we realized that our last year was an awakening to unlimited fields of knowledge. Yet, such events as the Senior Prom and Senior Day presented an interesting contrast to our final year of high school life. Between making plans for our first jobs and suspensefully awaiting that letter of acceptance from college, we tried to recapture the many memories of our high school days. Witli the final step, we left the long trodden paths of our velvet campus to follow roads of greater experience, never to forget the best years of our lives.
