Classes present the world we live in BUILT UPON THE foundation of learning estab- lished by the faculty is the curriculum of Catons- ville. At C.H.S. education is our main purpose, and the Catonsville student is given a choice of courses into which he may enter. On approaching the brick building on the hill, we hear the shouts of students, who, decked in blue gym suits, dash to and fro. Entering the build- ing, we can sense the medical odors of the health suite. Next we pass the guidance department, and from the main office we can hear an announce- ment being made over the new intercom system. Nearby, in the gym, balls Hy back and forth, while in the auditorium the choir can be heard rehearsing for a program. Starting down the hall, strange sounds are heard from the physics lab as students study resonance. Across the hall, a language class is offering its rendition of several traditional French songs. Many of these students are taking the academic course which requires two years of a language, two years of a science, and two years of academic math. At the end of the hall we find the library with books covering the walls and providing refer- ence and reading materials for the students and faculty of Catonsville. Diversified scenes THE SECOND FLOOR brings us to a new setting in which a commercial atmosphere draws us to the world of business. From a classroom we hear the constant clicking of typewriters as students hur- riedly attempt to complete their letters for the day. Many of these students are taking the commercial course which requires a year of science and intro- duction to business. Proceeding down the hall we sense an inviting aroma of baked cookies.
