Basketball is defined by Mr. Webster as an indoor game played with an inflated ball and basketball goalsf' Defined by Catonites it is a game which brought many a night of wild cheer- ing to our gym, and we might add we loved every minute of it. Everyone seemed to catch the spirit of the game and for several months basketball was the main topic of discussion at C.S.H.S. Our pride in our new school and gym was sup- plemented by our winning teams. both boys and girls, varsity and .l.V. Our great cheerleaders. under the supervision of Miss Alexander. prodded us on with cheers such as. 'tStrawberry Shortcake . Jive Yell , Victory Yell , and Lizzy Yell . Many of us left the gym with sore throats and hoarse voices, but happy nevertheless. ln addition to .loan Conaway, Bonnie Jones. Diane Darvis, Mary Lou Bryant, Roxanne Moody. ,lanice Melhuish, Janet McNeal, and ,ludy Rzeszutek. C.S.H.S. acquired a squad of boy cheerleaders composed of ,loe Trabert, Lynn Hill, Eddie bippard, and ,lack Childs who really livened things up. The cheer- leaders, Pep Band. and Pep Rally Committee led us to many successful pep rallys before and dur- ing school to give our teams a boost. The coaches of our teams also deserve our thanks for putting C.S.H.S. on top in the Baltimore County LEFT! Janice Moore and Miss Coffman dt-inonstratc a tb:-orcm to thc oth pe-riml gcomclry class.
