This last situation arose purely hy eoin- eideneefthe leading faetors lu-ing leetures from the printer. frenzied calls to and from the pho- tographer. and a deadline. After these suhtle hints the staff dug in and erm-ated the hook w hit-h xou are now reading. Seriouslx though. this 1-ourse was xery worthwhile. if for nothing other than a lah period to supplement a eourse in human relations. Wiliiell lfhuelx Haines raelxled. George Ylaisel laid an egg heeause he got only a B on a Phxsies test. Barbara Hildehrandt was always running down to the 'flirt'-Ill' room. while Nlarge Lang was still trying to finish her artiele. lix en though it looked as though a mixture would hlow up now and then. the experiments were always sueeessful. Wie emerged a little more friendly and somewhat wiser. 'lihe Get-Together Daneefthe first dance of the season! Granny's puhlicity was so inyiting that we were all really looking forward to it. Joan and l.ane's Social Committee found a won- derful hand. Cites lic-llen's: the Deeoration Com- mittee fixed up the gym with fall scenery. and at 9:00 p.m. we strolled in. Brown and yellow' fayors were exchanged for the tickets at the door. lmmediately we pieked out which leaf we wanted for a souvenir: this was hard. for they were all oyer the walls! Potted palms set off the hand which made quite a hit later with L'When the Saints Come Marching lnu. Then we joined our friends at the tahles dotting the sides ofthe room in calmaret style. ,Iohn lfaidley and liarlvara Nlicheal had the floor for a snorting jitterhug. lrut the rest of us old folks enjoyed the slow ones. At l2:00 p.m. we were sulliciently tired out and ready for some food. :X wonderful time! llright and early Nlonday morning we were ready for another week of school. The glamour of the dance was gone from the gym. and it was hack to the showersu. They' might he old. hut theyire so strong that they could prohahly' do hook shots hy them- selyesl Soon the clean. cheerful atmosphere made us feel hetter though. what a difference lretween the oiled floors and caryed desks of the old school. Uf course. we hate added attractions too. like Miss Dayisi newsprint curtains. Mr. Shannon's horror pictures. Nlr. l'iledggi's fish. and Vlr. Freenyfs potted plants. Neat. noi' ilihese pictures youire looking at were taken during some of our interesting classes. 'l'here's Hr. Nlurray training his hookkeeping students so well in practical things that. whether commer' cial or academic. any student would lrenefit. 'lille other picture is of Nlr. From the first edition with all the pictures of summer fun and information about our new school. the Kay-Hz' was a highlight of our school daze. That fahulous trip to New York City' will always stand out in their fondest memories. They' saw Kismet , went sight see- ing. and attended the National Conference: the Kay-Hz' won a second place rating. and Ruth Ann and Roger Rittinger were on the Dave Carroway Show-all in five days. Cannonis Restaurant was again chosen for the hanquet to acquaint the journalism l students with the stalf. l'lllI'l'0R-lN- CHIEF Xancy' Atkinson made a welcoming speech in her usual eflicicnt and charming manner. lfarly this spring. the Baltimore County' journalism Conference was held here.
