vocotion onto the moteriol of our lives
From the beginning to the end, Religion is the founda-
tion of Catholic High. ln the first years homeroom teachers
instructed students in the principles of the faith, but, in
1961, an individual department for Religion was formed
and placed under the direction of Sister Paul Helene.
Today seven Sisters, specially trained, use the keryg-
matic approach in catechetical instruction. Centering its
study of Religion around Christ, this method delves into
articles of faith in their relationship to Christ. Catholic
High girls are well informed of the recent work in the
Ecumenical Council and of the changes in the Liturgy be-
cause of their discussion of religious articles in class. Par-
ticipation, the knowledge put into practice, is expanded
during class Bible devotions and weekly Mass.
Alert to God's need for workers on His behalf, the Apostles'
League makes praying for religious vocations its chief concern.
ln their many visits to the Blessed Sacrament, the officers Frances
Cincibus, Geraldine Banashak, Maureen Lubinski, and the mem-
bers, also, ask that all may find their proper place in life.
"Welcome Crusaders" smiles Joyce Gunther, CSMC president,
as she greets representatives of archdiocesan high schools at the
annual rally held at Catholic High. This gathering provides an
opporunity for delegates to exchange ideas at an assembly
which concludes with the Holy Mass.
"Recreation not WRECK-reation in movie watching" is the maior
concern of the Legion of Decency ofticers Iris Belt, Elizabeth Eid,
and Janis Steg. Weekly the representatives of this club post classi-
fied listings to guide the girls in their free-time choices.

Multiple sense appeal aids the learning process. Valerie Malinowski and Patricia Palewick
help to clarify, for their fellow students, the relationship between the Bible and Liturgy
through a clever illustration. ln addition to the blackboard, many other visual aids are
used to make Religion more meaningful to students.
