ment, integrity, and tremendous esprit de corps. In the finest traditions of Franciscan thought, our education has been arranged. With characteristic Franciscan realism. the best of modern educational theories and techniques have been employed. With wonderful Franciscan human- ism, the program of studies and extra-curricular activi- ties has been adapted to individual talents and needs. And with St. Francis ' great grasp on things eternal, the spiritual growth of each student has been the white light that probed every step in the evolution of our school. True, TCHS has changed since 1939. Only three (Sisters M. Lucetta, Imelda, and Amoldine) of the original fac- ulty are left. The faculty has, moreover, more than tripled itself. New courses and subjects, extended improvements and additions in all departments prove that growth at this wonderful Alma Mater is organic and 13

Who will attempt to evaluate the luminous Christian worlds TCHS graduates have created? ... or follow the prismatic reflections of their influence, shattering as the sun, the mist, the foggy paths of disturbed fellowmen? When Mother Mary Generosa, with the original eleven faculty mem- bers, greeted those first TCHS students, did she feel that the responsibility and sacrifice she had imposed upon herself and her Order were justified? To erect and staff a school enrolling yearly approximately 1200, was not that an ambitious undertaking? . . . a continuing responsibility? We know that under God the responsibility was met successfully, even eminently, for the reputation of our graduates in business and educational worlds of Baltimore stands for achieve- 12

dynaniic. But the hub, so to speak, of the school is the Chapel erected in 1953. There, every morning and during the day, faculty and students meet in mutual harmony at the Savior ' s feet. There, in the Eucharistic Presence, is the source of Catholic High ' s being and fruitfulness. Now, in September, 1959, we record the accomplishment of another step in TCHS growth. An addition to the main building will give added accommodations to the drama and music departments and will provide offices for other needs. Truly, our Alma Mater grows: 14
