Cheerful Cherubs. Section 5D is always joyful when tunch time approaches. Fresh- ics became ecstatic when photographer tried to capture them on celluloid. Lunches prominent in brown bags were soon supplemented with delcctables provided by Sr. Arnoldine in the cafeteria. Piteously timid (or so they claim) were the 350 little freshmen who enrolled September 7 at The Catholic High School from 39 parochial grammar schools in Baltimore. Would one lie lost in the great brick school at top of Edison Highway? What would the knowing seniors do to one on that shivery, chilly, glorious time called Freshman Day? Would Latin daze? Would as- semblies dazzle? Oh. the delicious fears of un- initiated freshmen! (Or so they claim.) Seven experienced homeroom teachers solved every problem. They advised, coerced, and calmed. By November, hardly anyone would have known that the vivacious freshmen were only three months old. School spirit had jelled so well that 7D almost won the magazine drive; and all D's showed remarkable returns on various school activities. On April 21 freshies patronized in droves the Skating Party at Carlin’s. By June everyone knew that the class of 1955 was com- pletely a i»rt of TCHS vibrant life. 28
