 949 'JrnkJm Two thousand years ago, a famous star led the Wise Men to the greatest of all treasures, the Saviour of the World. The Gospel narrative of their long journey is fascinating, for “to love God is the greatest romance; to seek God, the greatest adventure; to find God, the greatest achievement.” Down through the ages, the stars have reminded men of their Creator: His constancy, His brilliance. His omnipres- ence. The stars shone on Assisi and a little poor man, Francis, in love with His Maker, hurst into the famous Canticle of the Sun, a lyric song in which he calls on creation to bless the Lord of all. The same stars that shone on the Wise Men shine on Catholic High. Seniors of ’49 regard them as a constant reminder of their motto, “Let your light shine.” As they travel the highway of life, may they have, like the Wise Men. only one aim—to find and possess Jesus. As we, the Seniors of '49, embark on the voyage of life, we turn our eyes to thee, the shimmering brilliance of Heaven, and dedicate this, our yearbook, and all the years of our lives to you. May the celestial whiteness of thy stellar countenance shed rays of holy purity on our every action; may the power of those piercing rays strengthen our souls to a constant practice of faith, hope, and charity; may the grandeur of thy throne in the sky inspire us to strive for the grandest, the highest, the noblest ideals. Then, when our ship docks on the shore of eternity, 0 Mary, may Thy Divine Son proudly whisper—“Mother, take care of Cathy High—she’s another star of My Sea!”
