Sr. Mary de Sales with Norma Shcaley Religion 5 A, Commercial Section 5J Enthusiastic, cooperative — these adjectives suitably describe Section 5A of the class of ’48. This group boasts starlets who aimed to develop a true school spirit. Forty-four happy, vibrant but at times, talkative seniors, who show a keen interest in all activities and a deep sense of re- sponsibility, sums up the section. In this section of vivacity, our spotlight rests on our actresses, Anne Newsome, Mary Lou Luez- kowski, Ruth Goebel, Pat Everett, Norma Shcaley, Audrey Jones and Carol Cawundcr, who participated in the presentation of the senior play, Quality Street.” Forceful and dramatic acting on the part of Jean Morrocco, Gloria Matthews and Agnes Rosendalc transported all of Catholic High to Calvary as they enacted a rendition of the Passion of Christ. From Frcshics” to Seniors, Lux Tua Luceat” was their theme. Under the capable guidance of the class representative, Joan Bunting, who has contributed her utmost to lead this group to greater achievement, these seniors express a deep gratitude and lasting fidelity to our Alma Mater, T.C.H.S. w e irill strive beneath your sparhliny banner

Alert, Active, Ambitious” is symbolic of 3A. Alert—Outstanding in the year book patron drive; they showed equal enthusiasm in reach- ing their quota in the Bishop’s Relief Campaign. Active—Boasting of two varsity members who paced the team to victory and gained a coveted place in the C.Y.O. playoffs. Many of the lassies from this section attended and cheered at all the games, led on by a cheerleader from their own homeroom. Ambitious—Many extra curricular activities hold a prominent place on their rosters, such as: C.S.M.C., Sodality, Drama Guild, A.A., Legion of Decency and Spanish Club. One look at the picture will convince the reader that this class worked as one in everything they did. Always ready to answer questions, the faculty found them gracious and responsive. t IbfUtl Sr. Mary Catharine de Ricci with Bernadette Twardowski Religion 3A, English Section 3j As our lires unfold.

lirvvn and gold to qlarifif Section IB Section IB maintains a lofty position in the Catholic High School—on the third and top floor of the building. They have embarked upon new courses, testing their skills in sciences and lan- guages, or in secretarial work; and they have been piloted by their teachers who have endeavored to guide these forty junior lassies safely along their journey, following the compass on their home- room blackboard, All for Jesus through Mary.” Their guiding stars have been the Forty Mar- tyrs whose faith and valor was the inspiration that caused them to set high goals and then attain them in all of the charitable drives conducted by T. C. H. S. Ever before them, causing them to go onward, was Mary, Star of the Sea. The Section was well represented by able offi- cers in various societies of Catholic Action, as well as in all sports. Girls of IB won places in the Junior Town Meeting of the Air, the Chemistry Club Open House and the Chemistry Essay Contest. Now, they have safely reached their destina- tion fully equipped and ready to continue their scholastic journey through Senior Year. Sr. Mary Thom asine with Dorothy Focrtsch and Marcan Tucker Religion IB, Commercial 27
