Section 4A Vrinriplrs of truth and tumor Girls of 4A were always fun-loving, jovial, and on their toes. Their chief asset was the presence of Joan Forcstcll, president of the Senior Class. Joan, the guiding star and model, held highest honors for four years at Catholic High. With Joan at the helm guiding them, 4A brought to port a vessel of stars. In the steno- graphic field, there were such outstanding gems as Rosalie Przybylowski, who early in the year got an O. G. A. typing pin for typing 52 words a minute. Not far behind was Dolores Slomba, who typed three perfect letters in fifteen minutes in the National Catholic Competent Typists contest. Last, but certainly not least, 4A made a great contribution to the dramatic and musical talent of Catholic High. There were 5 girls in the Glee Club, four of which were in the A Cappella choir, and the accompanist of the Glee Club, Bcrnadinc Dobryzkowski. The singers were Mary Lou Pilkcr- ton, Marie Ricss, Rosalie Przybylowski, Marie Docrcr and Gloria Bianconi. Mary Horton and Florence Tucholka contributed their talents to the Senior Play. Outside of school, Rosalie Przy- bylowski portrayed Gwen” in the Calvert Hall Senior Play. 24

Promise ever to uphold Section 2A ''Sugar and spice and everything nice,” that’s what section 2A is made of! Their talents are varied, intelligence—high, and morals—good. In the athletic field Rita Lcyh was prominent as captain of the varsity and A.A. representative. Along with Rita, Dolores Tillctc and Dolores Kaufman, who portrayed a man- hunting spinster in the Senior play, displayed fine guarding of forwards. Jacqueline Hicbcr, who has sung her way to the heart of every Cathy High lass, was president of the Glee Club. Up-and- coming journalist Patricia Lenhoflf wrote Pat’s Patter’’ for the Highway. Marita Kasai, hard- working class representative, is also a talented pianist. President of the C. S. M. C., Maria Mes- sina, has served Catholic High very well. As a group 2A is composed largely of future secretaries and laboratory technicians who aim to make good in the world. An outstanding class that will forever remember its dear old Alma Mater, Catholic High.” Sr. Mary Zacharia with Anne Kirby and Bernadette Murphy Religion 2A, English 23

Alert, Active, Ambitious” is symbolic of 3A. Alert—Outstanding in the year book patron drive; they showed equal enthusiasm in reach- ing their quota in the Bishop’s Relief Campaign. Active—Boasting of two varsity members who paced the team to victory and gained a coveted place in the C.Y.O. playoffs. Many of the lassies from this section attended and cheered at all the games, led on by a cheerleader from their own homeroom. Ambitious—Many extra curricular activities hold a prominent place on their rosters, such as: C.S.M.C., Sodality, Drama Guild, A.A., Legion of Decency and Spanish Club. One look at the picture will convince the reader that this class worked as one in everything they did. Always ready to answer questions, the faculty found them gracious and responsive. t IbfUtl Sr. Mary Catharine de Ricci with Bernadette Twardowski Religion 3A, English Section 3j As our lires unfold.
