Peter and Edith Participate in American Field Service Peter Althaus, Catalinais exchange student hails from Bern, Switzerland. Peter, who resided with the Russell Hastings family, became an active member of the student body. He par- ticipated in speech and debate tournaments and was a member of the International Club. German, French, and English Literature are favorite subjects of Peter. He also enjoys jazz. Skiing and hand- ball are favorite sports of his. A career in nuclear physics, stemming from Peter's interest in math and physical science, is planned by thisASwiss boy. Foreign exchange student Peter Althaus brushes up on his English. 5 www! cu g svn WEBSTERAS 'ww 'rs COLLBGIA 258 i Q Edith Catlin represented CHS in Switzerland last sum- mer. While there she lived with the Robert Kamer family in Bienne CBielJ. Her family, which included Mr. and Mrs. Kamer, Trixly, and Amin, took her on trips to many parts of Switzerland. During the summer she participated in many activities with her brother and sister. She found life with her family to be very informal. While in Switzer- land she spoke Swiss-German at home and occasionally English with her teenage friends.
