September Marks Start Of New School Year Vacation-happy students again started school the day after Labor Day. The school year got off to a good start with Frosh Assembly and the Atomic Energy Assembly on the following day. The iirst school mixer held on September 11 proved to be a very successful dance Hlled with fun. Cata1ina's varsity football team made its debut this month against Salpointe. Girls' League was introduced to the new freshman girls through a get- acquainted coke party on September 17. The Frosh primary election ended the month on an exciting note. 241 Even upperclassmen enjoyed the freshman coke party given by Girls' League. Fight echoes at a pep assembly as the cheerleaders lead the stu- dent body in school cheers. Coach Pearson introduces the football team. 1 1

Several boys acted as cheerleaders at the Central game. The lunch hours were time to eat and time for fun. Xp 7 ii X QR V l i 1 'M KJ. x Jans Meet Several . X X fiyschools in Football The month of October brought many exciting events to Catalina. The football season was at its height with the Trojans playing against Central High, Rincon, Tucson High, Scottsdale, and Flagstaff. The Frosh elections were held at the be- ginning of the month. The Girls' League Convention at North High in Phoenix was held on October 10. October 16 brought a pep assembly, the end of the 'first six weeks, and a very successful Lettermen's Dance.
