However, he is uncertain as to his future plans JANET AYERS, co-chairman of Capers, has been busy in student government since her freshman year. She was a court justice and served as junior class secretary. Music also plays an important part in Janet's life. She is a member of the school orchestra and band. Janet has participated in the Heart Fund, Pea- nuts for Polio, and Muscular Dystrophy Drive. She is also a member of Rainbow and the Tucson Youth Symphony. Meeting a moose face to face in the middle of a swamp near Anchorage Alaska was the most surprising experience Ive ever had DOUG FISHER has lived m many of the coastal States of the U S Doug has taken part in various school activities including National Honor Society and interscholastic speech com petition He IS interested in creative writing and speech and plans to major in English at the U of A TOM TOMPKINS, a native of Omaha, Ne- braska, has traveled through the Northwest. Tom was president of Catalina Methodist Youth Fellowship, president of the high school church choir, had the lead part in the operetta, and holds membership in National Honor Society, Latin and Spanish Clubs, student coun- cil, band and football. She was secretary of National Honor Society, president of the Junior Red Cross, a member of Tri-Hi- Y, A Cappella Choir, Ensemble, and Interna- tional Club. Traveling to Great Britain and receiving the Elks' Award will always be her memorable events. Music and history are Julie's favorite subjects. Her future plans in- clude attending college. Tall, red-headed STEVE YOUNG has been through Germany, England, Portugal, France, Holland, Canada, and Sweden with the Tucson Boys' Chorus. His main interests are in cars and photography. Steve was an Ensemble solo- ist several times this year. His activities in- cluded Hi-Y, NHS, Honor Service Society, Choir Council, and Boys' State. He was in advanced English and Chemistry classes. Winning the National Science Foundation Award gave SHERRY BARNEY a scholarship to the University of Kansas last summer to study math. Her favorite classes are math and French. She has made several hunting trips with her father which have taken her to Mexico. She lists her main interests as ranching and hunting. Sherry also enjoys jazz and motorcycles. Col- lege is included in her future plans. Grand Canyon, Arizona, was the birthplace of TEE COOK, CHS letterman. Tee has lived at many of the National Monuments in Ari- zona. His school activities included vice-presi- dent of NHS, freshman class president, secre- tary of the Student Body, and the Lettermans' club. His hobbies range from sports to leather- work. 'rw- f JANICE PHELPS has lived in Bal- timore, where she was born, as well as in Tucson. Janice was very active in Job's Daughters, National Honor Society, and Spanish Club. She was a Student Federation Delegate in her junior and senior years and had the honor of taking trigonometry and col- lege algebra at the university last summer. Her future plans include studying at the U. of A. to become a teacher. Brooklyn-born RICK PARRISH lists his interests as athletics and philosophy. Rick plans to become a Rabbi. At present he is president of his temple's youth group. He has also participated in oratorical and debate contests, and lists Speech and English as his favorite classes. Rick has been active in football and baseball and is a three year letterman. His school ac- tivities have included vice-president of Hi-Y, a member of the student coun- cil and advisory board. Her ac- tivities included Job's Daughters, Girls' League Council, NHS, A Cap- pella Choir, Ensemble, advisory board, Catalina Christian Youth, speech, and representing CHS as Rodeo Queen Attendant. She plans to study teaching and music at Ashland College in Ohio. Nancy has been on the Stu- dent Council, is a member of Na- tional Honor Society, and has worked with the Inter-School Council. Nancy also played an active part in the Dar- danaires. She claimed the most ex- citing thing that happened to her was dining at the Paramount Studios one summer. She plans to attend the U. of A. and major in Home Economics. Lively KRIS BORN, a native New Yorker, has seen much of the United States. Kris participates in her church choir, serves on the Youth Employ- ment Service Advisory Board, and is secretary of the Candystripers at Tuc- son Medical Center. Among her school activities were the tennis team, debate team, and NHS.
