Catalina is equipped with facilities and teachers to enable pupils to explore many areas of industrial life. Courses included in this department are woodworking, general metals, sheet metal, welding, machine shop, auto mechanics, radio, electricity, graphic arts, drafting, mechanical drawing, and photography. Read- 1ng,.writing, speaking, and listening are the important parts of a language. Teachers stress spelling, vocabulary, grammar, written expression, and an ap- preciation of ancient and modern litera- ture. With the exception of Latin, the purpose of taking a foreign language is to learn to speak it fluently. In doing this, translation, pronounciation, and grammar are emphasized, and the history, culture, and literature of the language are taught. X , , Z f 2 ZW f , . , .
