Rachael Munson, Sidney Bond, President Vice-President Any drama student who actively par- ticipates in the various drama activities, either in class or out of class, is eligible for membership in the National Thespian Society. The main purpose of the Society is to give students recognition for their participation in drama activities. This year the Thespians presented three drama productions and one assembly. Also in- cluded in their projects were a state and local drama festival. The state drama festival, held in the spring at the U of A, afforded the opportunity for drama stu- dents throughout the state to compete James Livieratos Adviser Chris Heindl, Bill Risner, Secretary Treasurer W ... with one another. The meetings of the Thespians were held monthly at the homes of the members. At one of their meetings, Margo McElroy, drama student at the U of A spoke on characterizations and acted out scenes from plays she has appeared in. The possession of a major letter en- titles a boy to membership in the Cata- lina Lettermans Club. Each boy must be willing to uphold the purpose which is to promote loyalty, service, sportsmanship, 1 and the ideals of character and faith. Club members maintained high ideals in f , athletics at Catalina. Qualifications for B letters vary according to the sport that it is awarded for. Candidates are picked by i ' the coaches and voted on by the student council. During the year club members helped at the games by passing out programs, ' aiding with the parking problem, and '1 Pit i raising the Hag at football games. They i donated their time to such projects as the ' P Peanuts for Polio Drive and the Cistic Fibrosis Drive. The club organized the M' Dads Club, a club for the boys' fathers i.,,riff,fpQn combine athletics and studies. at which they exchanged ideas. 201
