1 A A A Photo Staff: Dave Bivens, Jerry G New Torch Captures Essence of School Year The 1960 Torch, was well on its Way into being when the school year began this year. After the '59 year book was sent to press, the editors and staff of the '60 Torch began to assemble the 272 pages that comprise this book. Before the 159 school year was over, a rough layout had been made. At the beginning of the year, work was begun in earnest to meet the deadlines. The 1960 year book offers many new features, some of which include, black and white division pictures with cover overlays, a foldout page, a four process color picture of CHS, the use of action heads, more complete coverage of school life as may be seen in the fold-out page and the division pages. An assembly, held on December 10, kicked off a big sales campaign for the Torch. The finalists for Torch King and Queen were introduced and the annual staff put on a skit of a normal dayv in publications. By February 5, 1500 an- nuals had been sold. With the combined effort of the 31 staff members, the Torch is proudly pre- sented as a record of the school year. EX 2 rjffin, Tom Smith, Bill Russell Ken Mayer
